BigSun Scholarship...2013

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.

How to Apply
Please send us a short essay answering the following 3 part question:

What are your most important extracurricular or community activities?   What made you join these activities?  What made you continue to contribute to them?

Deadline

June 21, 2013.

Who is eligible?

All student athletes are eligible regardless of the sport they are engaged in. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute. 

Please remember to include your name and the name of the school that you are attending.

How to submit

All essay submissions should be sent to:

    • When is the winner notified?

      The winner will be notified within 2 weeks and the name of the winner will be posted on this website at that time.


  • When is the award received?

    The award is mailed within 2 weeks of the deadline.

Our Mission


The Big Sun Athletic Organization is dedicated to providing an opportunity for young athletes to learn and to excel. We are attemping to develop programs in all sports in our community in an effort to keep our children motivated and healthy.


2012 Scholarship Winners


Congratulations to Josh Ashley who is studying marketing at Illinois State and Cirra Halter who will be studying at Portland State working towards a career in Art Therapy.

2011 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Alexa Wrinn. Ms. Wrinn will be studying Sociology at Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
2010 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Sabrina Wilson of Denver, Colorado. Ms. Wilson is working towards a degree in Nursing at St. Regis University.
2009 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Ryan Luis of Milwaukie, Oregon. Mr. Luis is pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
2008 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Ashley Rae LaBar from Yuma, Arizona. Ms. LaBar is the 2008 winner of the BigSun Scholarship. She is in nursing studies and is involved in Track and Field.
